In addition to Brangwyn’s British Empire Panels and the beautiful facsimile sketches displayed in the Guildhall’s corridors, we have a NOW FOR MORE exclusive: an opportunity to view a collection of previously unseen preparatory sketches made by Brangwyn for the Panels.

These wonderful and rare drawings, loaned by John and Anne Morgan, will be at venues across the City centre from Sept 21st-29th:

Swansea Grand Theatre, Sept 29th – Oct 29th. A collection of Brangwyn’s etchings, lithographs & prints loaned by the Goldmark Gallery through the Taliesin Arts Centre. These can be seen alongside a series of large artworks created by Elysium Gallery artists responding to the British Empire Panels.

Pop Up Life Drawing, Castle Square, Sept 22nd & 29th Frank Brangwyn themed life drawing sessions with a Swansea city centre backdrop, participants will be able to create their own interpretations of the work.

: Drawing From Brangwyn, Sept 23rd Frank Brangwyn themed life drawing event that will take place at the National Waterfront Museum community Garden GRAFT where amongst the indigenous vegetables, flowers and herbs depicted in the Brangwyn’s British Empire panels multiple models will pose unclothed and costumed to create a narrative tableaux inspired by the paintings. During the poses the participants will be able to hear details about the panels history read out by Marc Rees, Artistic Director of NTH/NYA and artist Lauren Heckler.
